STEMCO Settles Lawsuit Against REVHD, Matt Stovall and Brian Beathard

LONGVIEW, Texas

(November 10, 2015) ­– STEMCO, an EnPro Industries company (NYSE: NPO) and leading manufacturer of heavy-duty components and solutions for the commercial vehicle market, announces that a lawsuit between STEMCO and competitor RevHD, its owners Matt Stovall and Brian Beathard has been successfully settled, and the suit will be dismissed without prejudice.

STEMCO was compelled to file the lawsuit in late 2014, when STEMCO discovered that Stovall and Beathard, two former employees had illegally formed RevHD, to directly compete with STEMCO calling on STEMCO’S customers with products based on confidential and proprietary knowledge gained from their previous employment at STEMCO.

An agreement between STEMCO and Defendants RevHD, Stovall and Beathard has been reached. According to the settlement, RevHD, Stovall and Beathard must immediately:

  • Cease the production, promotion, sale and distribution of any RevHD products that directly compete with STEMCO products Delete all information from company websites pertaining to RevHD products that directly compete with STEMCO products
  • Send all packaging, collateral and advertising material pertinent to RevHD products that directly compete with STEMCO products back to STEMCO
  • Pay compensation to STEMCO
  • Notify the industry and RevHD’s customer base of their cessation of business
